About the event
Acorns, the seeds of Oak Trees, grow almost everywhere on Earth, and everywhere they grow, they've been eaten by our Human ancestors in similar ways to how we eat grains and nuts today.
Although they are less commonly eaten in the industrial world, it isn't because they aren't delicious and nutritious! (Suspiciously, it's hard to monetize something that grows with ease in the wild.) Acorns are relatively easy to process and abundant around Chicago.
Join us in making Acorn Pumpkin cookies! You'll leave knowing how to process acorns and with some cookies to-go.
