About the event

There's no better way to cultivate a sense of self-reliance and connect to nature than to create something functional and versatile with sustainable plant materials from the park. By the end of this class, you will know several plants that can be used to make cordage (string), where to find them, when to harvest them, and how to process and spin their fibers into cordage. Join instructor Rhonan Tenney-Allen, who has been practicing ancestral skills since his wild childhood, for this class.

Optional: Make a lanyard for your own loupe or buy one from us for $10. (Loupes are small magnifying glasses that can be used in plant, insect, and mineral idetification.)

Materials are provided, and you will leave knowing how to find your own.

If you are coming from the , you may be hungry. Feel free to bring water and snacks!Plant Walk
