About the event
In the fall, as we, humans prepare for winter and and cold, so do the plants and animals. During this walk, we will become better aquanted with how our plant neighbors prepare for the cold months ahead. Nance Klehm, soil ecologist and professional forager, is leading an experiential walk in Lincoln Park to help people connect with and participate in the new growth. The group will learn about local edible and medicinal plants, soil health, and more! The walk will begin outside the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. Nance Klehm has been running urban plant walks for more than 20 years and has deep experience with botany and ecology. To learn more about Nance and her work, check out socialecologies.net.
Rain/snow or shine! We will be there unless there is severely inclement weather.
