About the event
Pain is something that both psychotherapists and physical therapists deal with regularly, but rarely do our professions come together to share what we know with each other. This presentation is both a compilation of pain neuroscience findings and an opportunity for connection and conversation around the topic of pain and how to address it with our clients.
Part discussion, part lecture, my hope is that you leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the human body and its least desirable sense - pain, as well as an understanding of how physical and emotional pain are similar and different from each other.
From this conversation
You will know red flags for pain (when to confidently and appropriately refer out to other providers and/or the emergency room)
You will learn how inflammation relates to pain
You will understand how pain can be helpful when viewed as a guide for deeper understanding…
