About the event
In the spring, our eyes are often drawn to flashy flowers like tulips, daffodils, and crocuses. But so much more is happening, and expanding your vision to the subtler hues can bring other gifts, including sweet salad greens and heightened awareness. Nance Klehm, soil ecologist and professional forager, is leading an experiential walk in Humbolt Park to help people connect with and participate in the new growth. The group will learn about local edible and medicinal plants, soil health, and more! The walk will begin at the Boathouse in Humbolt Park. To learn more about Nance and her work, check out socialecologies.net.
We often drink tea from some of the plants seen on the walk. Please bring a water bottle or jar to partake!
Directly following will be a cordage class taught by Rhonan. Learn how to actively engage with some of the plants we will see on the walk!
